In this talk Dr. Handler will discuss the role AI will play in shaping the future of work through the exploration of a series of dichotomies that create the pressure required to create change. Specific topics of focus will include: The impact of AI on psychological safety in the workplace, the ethics of job applicants’ use of AI in the hiring process, the replacement of jobs by automation, and an overview of how AI will impact core HR functions.

Presenter Biography

Dr. Charles Handler is an industrial-organizational psychologist whose work focuses on the intersection of people, work, and technology. Dr. Handler is a world renowned expert in the use of psychometric assessments to support the hiring process and has worked with some of the largest companies in the world to install ethically sound hiring processes. He has been at the forefront of innovation in his field for several decades, having helped put the first employment tests online and continues to help further the development of digital hiring processes. His current work focuses on the psychological and ethical implications of AI in the workplace. Dr. Handler is a fellow in the Society for Industrial/Organizational psychology, author, and host of the Psych Tech @ Work podcast.
